History

Welcome to our Basketball Club

Barons kvartls is an integral part of the recent basketball history of Latvia, as it (under the name Princips) was one of the founding teams of the Latvian Basketball League (LBL) in 1992. In the first season, Princips brought bronze in the LBL. Princips was then renamed to LainERS following two seasons and set off with his first American legionary Mikki Jackson, a cheerleading show and first game programs in the Latvian league on the way to Latvian basketball history.

LainERS won in 1994 LBL bronze and finished in the next two seasons the 4th Place. In 1998, they also reached the semi-finals, but then succeeded for a few years, no greater success.

The revival of the club began in the fall of 2001, when LainERS became a baron. The way up was made gradually, but permanently. In 2004, the barons brought LBL bronze, but in the next two years, the historic 2nd place was reached. Barons have made history again with the First Player Cards. In January 2007 came already third edition of fan-beloved cards. Last season at the LBL Barons / O! Card in the semifinals in a series of five games lost to the next Latvian champions ASK Riga, but in the fight for the bronze medal Liepjas Lauvas won.

Barone / O! The card has participated in all three championships of the Baltic Basketball League. The highest achievement so far was in 2006 when Barons / O! Card participated in Final Six in Tallinn. On October 15, 2006, the audience of the Barons / O! The card game with kauas’ algiris was a record high with 11,500 spectators.

008 Season Barons / O! The card came into the last sixteen of the Baltic Basketball League, where kalev / Cramo lost in the best of two games. But still, the season can be considered historic, for for the first time barons have won Latvian championships and FIBA   EuroCup.

The Latvian championships were won again in 2010 by barons.

Season 2011/12 Barons played in the Latvian Basketball League 2 Division (LBL), where burst the first place and the next season back to LBL named Barons Kvart’ls.
